A short puffer jacket with the drape of a woollen
The fabric changes everything. Where a classic short puffer jacket plays the shiny nylon card, this one adopts a marl black and grey surface, dense and matte, that borrows its grain from winter wool. The wide quilted blocks give volume to the shoulders and stop sharply at the waist: a short line that lengthens the leg and is worn over high-waisted trousers. The padded high collar rises to the chin, the zip runs the full height and two diagonal piped pockets welcome the hands. Inside, a smooth lining; at the bottom, a drawcord tightens the hem when the wind picks up.
How to wear it
Its short cut calls for a high waist: a cream roll neck, ecru straight jeans and cognac ankle boots make a clean, effortless winter look. Zipped to the collar with the hood up, it becomes a piece for deep cold; open over a pale knit, it moves into a more relaxed oversized puffer jacket. The hood comes off via a row of poppers along the neckline — leaving the high collar alone, and a contrast band that underlines the shoulders. Anthracite marl goes with the whole neutral wardrobe, from ecru to camel, and stands out sharply against light trousers.
