The short leopard-print puffer jacket
This puffer stops at the waist: 50 to 52 cm, not a centimetre more. The volume stays wide — dropped shoulders, balloon sleeves, soft baffles — but the line is decidedly short, which lengthens the leg and sits as well over wide trousers as over jeans. The fabric makes the difference: a leopard print on a matte brushed fabric with no shine at all, closer to wool than to nylon. At the front, the zip disappears under a popper placket with round silver poppers; at the bottom, a drawcord lets its black tips hang. No hood and no faux fur collar: a clean, padded high collar, and that is all.
How to wear it
A plain base is enough: a fine pearl-grey knit, wide chocolate crepe trousers, flat black ankle boots. Zipped to the top, the short puffer jacket becomes a graphic winter piece; open over the knit, it works as a mid-season overshirt. With the cord tightened, the waist is marked and the jacket blouses slightly above; with the cord loosened, the line is straight again.
